Nursing research

Proof of our excellence in nursing is promoted and supported through the activities of clinical scholarship and research, directed toward improving the quality of patient outcomes, nursing care and understanding nursing practice. For inquiries regarding nursing research, email nrc@geisinger.edu.

Our nurses' commitment to excellence in patient care, quality and safety can be seen throughout Geisinger Health System. We support our nurses as they continue to enhance their professional skills, with almost 600 nurses receiving advanced certifications each year.

  • Includes 20 skilled nursing facility beds

  • Approximately 160 nurses
  • Major medical/surgical acute care unit serving Northumberland County

Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, Bloomsburg

  • 72 beds
  • Includes 20 psychiatric beds
  • Approximately 85 nurses

Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre

  • 274 beds
  • Acute care hospital and Level II trauma center
  • Approximately 750 nurses

Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton

  • 297 beds
  • Acute care hospital and Level II trauma center
  • Approximately 470 nurses

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown
