Together, we bring miracles to children

Miracles happen every day at Geisinger, where caring neighbors like you donate funds to support the care our clinical teams provide to children.

As a proud member of Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), we raise funds to strengthen the life-saving pediatric treatments, research, services and equipment Geisinger provides for children every day at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville, Janet Weis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Services Unit at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre’s Pediatric Urgent Care Center and pediatric specialty clinics and Geisinger Medical Groups throughout our health system.

Help us bring more healing miracles to children by supporting Geisinger’s care today.

About Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN)

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a nonprofit organization that raises money to support care for kids at 170 children’s hospitals nationwide, including Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville.

Every dollar you give directly benefits children in northeastern and central Pennsylvania by strengthening the care and services our teams provide every day.

Philanthropy helps make miracles happen

Meet Geisinger’s 2024 Miracle Kids

2023 Miracle Kid, Peter Swistock of Port Matilda

Peter Swistock, 2024 Local Champion, Port Matilda

After a shocking brain bleed, Peter was rushed to Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, where the 13-year-old underwent surgery and a challenging recovery. Philanthropy provided special physical therapy equipment and a bed that allowed his parents to stay with him through fevers, therapy and recovery.

2024 Miracle Kid, Elisabeth Lanning of Mehoopany

Elisabeth Lanning, Mehoopany

Complications during Elisabeth’s premature birth required her to be airlifted to Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital via Life Flight®. Her medical team stabilized Elisabeth’s condition using cooling therapy, a procedure made possible through donations to Children’s Miracle Network.

2024 Miracle Kid, Amelia Jankowski of Bloomsburg

Amelia “Mia” Jankowski, Bloomsburg

When pregnancy complications decreased Mia’s oxygen supply in utero, doctors had to perform an emergency C-section and immediate intubation and oxygen therapy. She recovered miraculously, aided by highly specialized equipment and expertise that was directly supported through philanthropy.

2024 Miracle Kid, Mason Ostrich of Brodheadsville

Mason Ostrich, Brodheadsville

Despite multiple health challenges since birth, Mason has defied expectations and zoomed past his predicted lifespan of just five years to become a fearless, ambitious 16-year-old with big dreams. His complex medical journey requires multiple specialties that are supported by philanthropy.

2024 Miracle Kid, Aubrey Scott of Danville

Aubrey Scott, Danville

Aubrey’s journey with spinal muscle atrophy underscores the lifesaving, life-changing impact of donor support. Philanthropy has enabled advancements in gene therapy and treatment that gives children like Aubrey the vital resources they need to thrive.

2024 Miracle Kid, Luca Eddy of Wilkes-Barre

Luca Eddy, Wilkes-Barre

A birth defect in his airway caused Luca to have respiratory failure and a critical loss of oxygen at just two years old. He spent months in the hospital until he could finally breathe on his own. Philanthropy supported the medical expertise and equipment that saved his life and, against all odds, prevented developmental delays and brain damage.
