Susan Torrey is the chief operating officer for Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company and Geisinger Quality Options Inc., collectively referred to as Geisinger Health Plan. 

Ms. Torrey joined the health plan in December 1987 and has more than 35 years of experience in health insurance operations. She oversees a team of 600 employees and is responsible for the call center, claims, enrollment, project management, training, system configuration, quality audits and appeals and grievances. Previously, she had oversight of provider data management, credentialing and program integrity. 
 
Ms. Torrey was the executive business lead on a large-scale, multi-year project to convert Geisinger Health Plan’s core claims platform to a new state-of-the-art system. This successful system conversion was implemented on time and on budget. 

She attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown for business administration and earned her bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Misericordia University in Scranton.
